Melissa Gee's Faith Story

Tell us your name and where you are from.

M: My name is Melissa. I am from upstate New York.

What is your Faith Story? What can you tell us about your personal life testimony?

M: My faith story has been a complicated one. I was saved as a child and accepted Jesus as my Savior. I went through my teens and most of my 20’s walking outside of that relationship with Jesus and living in the world. When I became pregnant with my son, I was living with his father and having a terrible time. After multiple times of him cheating including during my pregnancy and other issues, I knew something needed to change. I was living in Charlotte, NC at the time. I knew that it was no longer about me but about my son. What was the life I wanted to provide for him?

While pregnant, I rededicated my life and dedicated my son’s life to Jesus. I left everything I had in NC, my worldly life, my career, my house and my friends. I humbled myself, moved my 10 month old son and myself back to upstate NY with my parents until I could get back on my feet. I got into an amazing Spirit-led church. Having become Spirit filled and walking in my supernatural purpose. That does not mean everything was perfect. After being single for almost 5 years, I began dating a man that I believed was a man of God. Now, I take full ownership of my part of the situation, rushing and ignoring the red flags. I did not allow “equally yoked” to be the focus. I married this man only to have that marriage end terribly and quickly after less than a year.

That was a huge turning point in my life. I went through my divorce on my face in front of the Lord. The first year was strictly for me to heal. Since then, the Lord has catapulted me to levels in the Kingdom I never believed could happen.

I have received prophecy from multiple different prophetic individuals that I will walk in healing and miracles. Ministry and intercession are my portion. I only desire to be obedient to my Abba and learn his Word. I am sold out to Him. I have allowed wisdom and knowledge to be my focus goals. I know Abba is not done with me yet, and there are levels and dimensions that He has in store for my, and someday, my spouse. Increased Obedience yields accelerated harvest (Pastor Andrea Ogunwumi), has become my life motto!

What is your favorite scripture and why?

M: I have many scriptures I love, but my life scripture is Daniel 11:32.

But the people who do know their God shall be strong, and do great exploits.

This verse was spoken over me last year and has been a verse I dissect and meditate on often.

If there was one nugget of wisdom in your walk and growth in Christ that you would want to leave us with today, what would that be?

M: Do nothing with mediocracy- walk in a Spirit of excellence for that is the will of God. Walk in obedience and be totally sold out for Jesus. If you do, nothing can stop you. (Romans 8:28). Oh and make the Holy Spirit your best friend!

Do you have any resources (devotionals, books, studies) that have helped you that you would recommend to keep us encouraged?

M: I have so many resources, books, teachings! I utilize Apostle Dr. Sharon Nesbitt (find her on Facebook) for online teachings along with Ryan LeStrange and Dr. Matthew Stevenson III.

I have read many books over the past year or so such as: Moving in Glory Realms by Joshua Mills, Good Morning Holy Spirit by Benny Hill, Angels and Demons by Benny Hinn, Spiritual Discernment and Spiritual Authority by Watchman Nee, The Prophets Manual by John Eckhardt, Seeing Angels by Joshua Mills, They Shall Expel Demons by Derek Prince, Hell’s Toxic Trio, and The Jochebed Anointing by Ryan LeStrange, Healing the Wounded Soul by Katie Souza, Scarlett Stream Dr. Sharon Nesbitt, and Leadership Pain by Samuel R. Chand.

Thank you Melissa! Where can we find you online?

Takeaway:

Hey Selah family! Melissa's story showed us how God took her through a process of healing. And through that process, she came out with a deeper love for the Father that has trickled down to her son as well as clarity in her specific calling in ministry. What areas are you seeking a deeper connection with the Father in? What would you like for Him to reveal to you today? And lastly, what areas did you feel that your choices may have disqualified you from? Melissa's story reminds us that we can never disqualify ourselves from what He has called us to when we remain close to Him and His guidance. Take some time today to spend with Him. Pull out your journal. And listen.

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for your unconditional love toward us. I thank you that you are ready to receive us when we turn to you- each and every time. I thank you that you delight in us when we delight in you.And Father, I lift up every reader in this post today. I ask that as they turn to you in obedience to hear you, that you may speak to them. Specifically in the areas that they are called to in serving YOU. For anyone that is seeking a deeper and closer relationship with you right now, or to receive the Holy Spirit, I pray your Matthew 7:7 promise over them: If they ask and it will be given to them, if they seek, they will find you, and if they knock, the door WILL be opened. In Jesus' name, Amen!
