Tell us your name and where you're from?
B: My name is Benita Garnett and I am from Augusta, Georgia
What is your faith story? What can you tell us about your personal life testimony?
B: My faith story started in 2010. I will never forget it. I was chasing my son's daddy and I knew he did not want me or our son. I was at a stop sign and looked at myself in the mirror ( I was looking for him). I said:
"Benita what are you doing? You know he does not want you or our son,, so why I are you doing this to yourself again?" I said: "God I am tired. I am tired of having low self-esteem, and being depressed. I not only give my life to you, but I give my body to you."
I have been celibate since then. This was the best thing I ever done with my life. In God I found beauty, in HIM I found love, and in HIM I found strength.
What is your favorite scripture and why?
B: My favorite scripture is Psalm 91. God protects us always.
If there was one nugget of wisdom in your walk and growth in Christ that you would want to leave us with, what would that be?
B:
The one nugget I would leave is God is so real and true. HE is always with us and we are never alone. All we have to do is sit down alone and talk to HIM.
Do you have any resources (devotionals, books, studies) that have helped you that you would recommend?
B: The best book to read is the Bible, it is so many things that we go thru today that people in the Bible has already been through. I also like the bible app which has devotionals in there for whatever your going thru.

Takeaway:
Many of us can relate to Benita's experience with the chase. We so often find ourselves chasing the things that we want until we get finally frustrated enough to surrender to God's alignment with the things we need. Then we find that if only we turned to Him sooner, those things that we needed were not only better, but were freely given to us. We no longer have to chase them. Take some time to write down the things that you have been pursuing lately. Now look at your list: these may not even be bad things. Whatever those desires may be, take some time to surrender them to God right now.
Prayer:
Father, we thank you today. We thank you that by your grace we are renewed and refreshed daily. We thank you that every need is met and supplied already. And we thank you for those desires on our hearts because we also know that if they are good, you placed them there. Forgive us for pursuing those things outside of your guidance. We are so tired of chasing Lord. So today, we surrender them to YOU. We release our hand on it and receive the covering of yours over them. We release our timing and submit to yours because it is perfect. We release our expectations of how they will come to pass, because you always deliver outside of anything we could imagine. We thank you for your voice in guiding our movements today. And we are walking in expectation of all that YOU have for us. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!
